What is our goal?
The Nebraska On-Farm Research Network (NOFRN) is a robust research program that is 'by farmers, for farmers'. In collaboration between UNL Extension faculty and local Nebraska farmers, we are answering questions and current pressing concerns, and also pushing for research for potential problems that may become issues in the future. The focus of the NOFRN is to provide replicated and tangible research for Nebraska farmers that can be translatable in our state.
From corner to corner, Nebraska is an incredibly unique state. What works in Southeast Nebraska may not work or even be an option in Northwest Nebraska. This is why replicated research in farmers' own fields is critical. Taking advantage of these projects in each region of our state strengthens the NOFRN and allows for farmers to access data that hopefully could be relayed into their own fields. With investments from the Nebraska Soybean Board, Nebraska Corn Board, and Nebraska Dry Bean Comission, the NOFRN aims to provide feedback and support in the numerous farming operations in our state.
